I came into this week with very few expectations. Therefore, when I dragged my suitcase onto campus, I was apprehensive for the week ahead. Curious of: what would we be doing, would I enjoy it, who would I be teaching, and mostly; who on earth was I going to be spending an intense 5 weeks with!
Of course, things soon became a lot clearer and a lot less scary. Undoubtedly, this week has been physically challenging: the long days, the excess of carbs, and that one sports session (most strenuous exercise I’ve done all decade). However, it has also been such ! a ! blast ! I have had the pleasure of meeting a dynamic group of absolutely lovely and interesting individuals who have all at some point made me laugh to the extent my stomach ached.
I feel I have reached the end of this week much more prepared and excited for the 4 weeks in, as Carol says, ‘65km south from Valencia.’ Cannot wait to make many more memories!
