It is Sunday evening before our second week here in Valencia and I am getting that "Sunday night before school" feeling all over again. It's been a while since I've felt that!
Last week absolutely flew by and I'm proud to say I worked really hard so I gave myself plenty of time this weekend to actually explore the city. Valencia is absolutely stunning!! I hadn't realised how close our flat is located to the centre so everything is really accessible, we are so so lucky. I spent all day Saturday wandering around and getting (only a little bit )lost so now I have a better appreciation of where everything is and what I want to visit during my time here. I cannot wait to see more.
Today I have mostly been at home getting ready for the week ahead. Monday is my longest and busiest day with 5 lessons so there has been quite a bit to prepare. Thankfully, I was able to have a good chat with my teachers before I left on Friday to make clear what they needed me to do and I am just hoping all goes well tomorrow.
I am really looking forward to my A-Level classes this week as I have a Brexit debate planned in one of them and in the others they are working on projects about sexism in song lyrics and it has been really interesting hearing their discussions. As I teach predominately younger years with a very mixed grasp of English, I like the opportunity to get into the "meatier" topics with these older classes. I have put quite a bit of thought into my lesson plans and activities, so now I just hope they go OK. Fingers crossed for week 2!
