Endy weeky

It's Friday and I'm sat in the cafe up the road from the school. Salesianos is a really lovely school, the students have taken to me well and I am settling in now. I taught my first secondary class today and it seemed to go well. I've loved doing Art classes with the primary students. They do a rotation between making bags out of t-shirts, geometrics (luckily they already know what they're doing with those shapes!), and doing their own models or drawings of famous artists. They're regular Van Gogh's, and I've been surprised by how much I've enjoyed making things and getting the students to tell me about the different materials and what they are doing. The students are the best and they are really excited to speak to me.

I'm having a blast, but I'm glad it's almost the weekend. It's lucky the coffee is so strong here because the days are long, and the accommodation is pretty noisy at night. Merce who is the course coordinator for our school showed Michelle and I around her favourite spots in A Coruna, including the tower of Hercules on the coast, and the opposite peninsular which has beautiful cliffs, grassy hills, almond trees, and an observatory. The views are amazing!

Everyone at the school has given us loads of support and a really warm welcome. It's been a long week, but a fantastic one.
