The end of week one!  There has been a subtle but definite change in how settled I feel here in Gandia.
Without a working phone, or more importantly the ability to tap in to Google maps, my journey to school in the dark this morning was missing a vital focal point - the mountains.  I allowed myself an hour to walk  to the school in the dark, and with a few hit and misses in odd directions I eventually arrived, admittedly with the assistance and escort of a kindly old man who had gone to buy bread.  I arrived with 5 minutes to spare.  Walking through the large wooden doors I entered in to a serene and mentally elevating space.

Little did I think during the induction week in Chester , would I, a week later, have conversed with nearly 400 children. And engaged in conversation classes with two Spanish teaching staff with three requests for conversation classes from other staff members.  Thrown in to the deep end, my school requested that I immerse myself in conversation with the children - 50 minutes at a time.  I now have, at the end of week one, a schedule for next week and need to assemble eight lesson plans this weekend.  The bottom line is, I'm enjoying it and hope my dodgy internet holds up to allow me to produce the goods.

Signing off feeling well and truly at home!  I will re read this at the end of week 2.  Happy days 😊
